“No, what are you guys doing, you are all making a big mistake” he screamed in panic, trying to buy time as he figured out a way from this situation. With his last gasp of breath, as the noose quickly fastened, he let out the words “Im not Kir…” and with that, it was over.

These humans really are strange creatures, Ryuk thought to himself as he recalled the events that had just transpired in the past half hour.

*****30 Minutes Earlier*****

There was an awkward silence in the room, as everyone just stood around trying to figure out how to react to what had just happened. The newest member to the investigation squad, Touta Matsuda had just been lynched on the suspicion of being Kira.
“I now believe there to be a 60% chance that Matusda wasn’t Kira” L said calmly as he picked up another marshmallow and placed it in his mouth.
“What do you mean there is a 60% chance he might not be Kira?” Sochiro Yagami yelled out in anger. “Are you telling me we just killed an innocent man?”
“That drama queen deserved it, always making a big deal over everything.” Mello jeered at Sochiro as he unwrapped another chocolate bar.
Furious with anger at Mello’s comments over the death of Matusda, Sochiro was about to confront Mello, when Watari intervened and swiftly removed the chocolate out of Mellos hands.

*****5 Minutes Later*****

Yagami Light and Misa Amame walked back into the main conference room.
“Whats wrong with Mello?” Kira asked, as he noted Mello now sitting in a corner, away from the rest of the group.
“Watari took away all his chocolate for being a dick” Near said matter-of-factly.
Light really couldn’t believe these were the idiots trying to stop him from creating a new world of justice. “I just hope Misa can accomplish the simple little task I gave her” Light thought to himself.
“I think we have all had a long day, we should just get some rest and try to work on the case with fresh minds in the morning” Watari suggested to the groups.
“Very well” everyone said, as they slowly began to get up and make their way to their living quarters.

*****15 Minutes Later*****

Light was contently happy, as he walked down the hallway with L. He had managed to live through the start of the investigation, and he had now just been informed on the identity of one of his fellow task force members, thanks to Misa. Things were going quite well, for him, when L had asked him “Light-kun, would you perhaps like to share a bed with me tonight?”
A look of sheer confusion came over Light, as he turned to L to see if he was serious. But before he could say another word, there was a scream heard throughout the headquarters. It came from the room down the hall. Both Light and L ran down towards the room. The room belonged to Near. As they went in to the room, there they were met by the rest of the investigation force, as no one was quite sure how this could have possibly have occured. But there was no doubt about what the end result was of the events, as they saw Nears arm laid grasping out of a mountain of stuffed toys. His body, limp and lifeless, crushed by the weight of his own precious collection of stuffed toys.
L inspected Yagami Light, to gauge his reaction at the death of Near.

“Hmm I now believe there to be a 98% chance that Matsuda is not Kira.” L said…
