Drawing classes on the 15th of october

Announcement for drawing classes for those who are genuinely interested!

As promised, here is the info for the drawing class which will be held from 21 august (13th im busy) onwards.

Main Venue:
WT 1011 OR 0-25
The AUT Anime club's unofficial new clubroom. See you there!

Alternate Venue:
AU cafe, 1200-1400
meet at the Auckland university cafe, 2nd floor, next to the AU anime club's hangout spot. you cant miss it once you see a bunch of like minded anime lovers sprawled like corpses around the area.

topics covered:
Bare basics like basic drawing, proportions and anatomy will be taught as needed. once you are comfortable, we will move on to more advanced stuff as requested.

You will need:
your hand, eyes, pencil and a decent sized sketchbook. there will be no digital painting for the first few weeks whatsoever. emphasis is on basic drawing skills.

Ground rules:
I am a very intolerant person, and will not entertain requests for repeat lessons if you happen to miss any. I expect those who take the class to have a mature level of commitment to improving their art and not go there to play PSP or spend the time chatting away. If you feel you cannot maintain your attention, you are welcome to join in the AU crowd opposite us. If i am not available, i will reply to this thread to inform students of any changes.

Please keep drawing to hone your skills even if there are no lessons, it is crucial to get your hands used to drawing. I hope you will have an enlightening time drawing with us. cheers!

Something has just occured to me. I remembered your face from somewhere at the meeting, but I couldn't place it. I assumed it was at a previous meeting, but when I came home and discovered the Superscenic art book + OST on my desk, I thought maybe I recognised you from DO. Were you the one selling them, by any chance?

its more like half way between AUT and the AU library, but its kinda secret if you're not a AU student and its your first time there so you have to ninja your way there XD

Ok confusion reigns (no thanks to my mistakes in reading the calendar). I'll do it like this:

20st August, THURSDAY, 12pm, meet at the AUT student lounge. I'll lead you all there. for those who want to go on ahead, i'll see you at the AU cafe.

Class will be held from 1215 to 1330. the first lesson is learning how to draw instinctively, so be prepared to scribble alot!

I'll see what i can do for those who have class at 1pm or request a friday class...probably we can meet at GNC on firday afternoons to draw in the video room.

Agh. I'm sorry, but something more important to my ongoing good health has come up that will be filling this time-slot on a pretty regular basis. I guess I am going to have to drop. Sorry ;-;

Hey ladies and gentles,

This week's class will be a practice session rather than actual lessons as some of the people cant make it due to being on holidays. Same time, same place, bring more paper along!

The practice sessions will entail basics such as poses, line quality and tracing. Actual lessons will begin again on the 17th of September, 2009, starting with basic anatomy of the human head.

Sure man will you be around same time around 12 pm on Thursday? for practice ... I would like to do more practice

Just a heads up that this thursday, the 10th of september, there will be no class as Pongo's Higurashi marathon is on.

Since Frankie has asked for a revision class of sorts for those who didnt manage to make the earlier classes but would like to do some practice, a session will be held on the 17th of September (next thursday), in the AUT student lounge from 12-4pm. please do note down here if you can make it so i know how many people are going.

yay i have time to come for once, so i'll definately come since i'm on break.
